Klaasen moves up in rankings

Johannesburg - South African doubles tennis player Raven Klaasen has moved up the world tennis ranking after winning the Quimper Open challenger title even with Johan Brunstrom, of Sweden, in Quimper, France, on Sunday.

Klaasen moved up four places spaces to 51 on the ATP World Doubles Ranking, which is an all time high doubles ranking for the South African.

SA rankings:


Singles: Kevin Anderson (30), Izak Van der Merwe (259), Fritz Wolmarans (337), Rik De Voest (351), Ruan Roelofse (503), Nikala Scholtz (738).

Doubles: Raven Klaasen (51), Kevin Anderson (91), Izak Van der Merwe (114), Rik De Voest (123), Ruan Roelofse (176), Jean Andersen (222).


Singles: Chanelle Scheepers (58), Chanel Simmonds (172), Natasha Fourouclas (776).

Doubles: Natalie Grandin (35), Chanelle Scheepers (112), Chanel Simmonds (214).
