Federer v Murray in quarters

Cincinnati  - Second-seeded Roger Federer secured his quarter-final berth at the Cincinnati Masters on Thursday with a three-set win over Gael Monfils.

The Swiss great, owner of 17 Grand Slam titles, needed one hour and 48 minutes to subdue Monfils 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, and set up a clash with eighth-seeded Scot Andy Murray.
