Anderson consolidates 19th spot

Johannesburg - South Africa's top tennis player, Kevin Anderson, remained unchanged and consolidated 19th position in the latest ATP World Tour singles rankings, released on Monday.

Earlier on Monday, Anderson beat Dominic Thiem in the opening round of the Japan Open and is safely through to the next round.

The South African had achieved a ranking of 17 in July, after reaching the fourth round of Wimbledon.

Meanwhile, South Africa's top women's player, Chani Scheepers, climbed six places to 75th.
