Anderson beaten by Wawrinka

Cape Town - South Africa's No 1 tennis player, Kevin Anderson, was on Wednesday beaten in the second round at the Shanghai Masters by Switzerland's Stanislas Wawrinka.

The eighth-seeded Swiss won a tight encounter 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7/5).

Wawrinka will next play the winner of Wednesday's later match between Spain's Fernando Verdasco and Canada's Milos Raonic.

Anderson, who moved back into the Top 20 in Monday's rankings, earlier beat Romania's Victor Hanescu to reach the second round.
