Cape Town - South Africa's Kevin Anderson has been knocked out of the Rome Masters, losing 7-5, 6-2 in the Round of 16 to Czech Tomas Berdych - the same man who beat him in Madrid last week.
This is the fourth time this year that Anderson has lost to the Czech world No 6.
As was the case last week, Anderson was up a break early in the first set but failed to hold onto his serve and eventually capitulated to a straight sets defeat.
Anderson has lost all eight of his meetings with Berdych since they first played at the 2012 Australian Open.
The South African No 1 will now head to Paris, where the French Open starts next Sunday.
