Cape Town - Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has admitted that the club was not prepared after Monday's disappointing 3-1 English Premier League defeat to Leicester City.
The Reds were virtually overrun by a Foxes outfit that displayed some of the qualities that made them English Champions last season. However, the match was notable for the lack of fight the Jurgen Klopp-coached outfit put up.
The loss has seemingly put Liverpool in a tough position if they are to claim a top-four finish come the end of the campaign. As such, Wijnaldum says the team were not at the races and they must show a marked improvement ahead of Arsenal's visit to Anfield on Saturday.
The 26-year-old told the club's official website: "After every defeat it’s important to bounce back. That's what we have to do on Saturday.
"Of course, it's difficult, and it's a hard one, especially with the way we lost the game. It's really sad. The manager (had) told us already at the beginning of the week, and again when (Claudio) Ranieri (left), that it was going to be a really difficult game.
"They want to show that they are a good team and they wanted to fight to beat us. We were not ready at the beginning of the game."
Meanwhile Jurgen Klopp feels that he and his Liverpool side are playing for their futures, following the shock 3-1 defeat to Leicester on Monday night.
The Reds are currently in fifth place on the Premier League standings, with 12 games to play - one point behind Arsenal in fifth and only four points behind Tottenham in second - although a massive 14 points adrift of leaders Chelsea.
Klopp's men will be looking to bounce back when they face fellow top-four contenders Arsenal at Anfield with just one point separating the two sides.
