Weekend round-up: 5 of the best

Cape Town - A compact weekend of PSL and Premier League action.

Here is Sport24's round up of the best team, player, game, goal and moment of the week.

Baden Gillion's choices:

PLAYER OF THE WEEKEND: PERCY TAU

The Sundowns attacker is fast becoming the most exciting prospect in local soccer and has forced his way into arguably the best attacking trio in Africa. Tau grabbed a goal to go along with three assists in a 5-0 drubbing of Highlands Park over the weekend. He has been praised recently by Masandawana coach Pitso Mosimane, with Benni McCarthy in the post-match analysis saying that the 22-year-old had a bright future ahead of him.

GOAL OF THE WEEKEND: PEDRO

Pedro equalised for Chelsea against Tottenham Hotspur with a neat turn and classy finish into the top corner from the edge of Hugo Lloris' box. The goal started a comeback win for Antonio Conte's men which saw them remain at the top of the English Premiership standings.

MOMENT OF THE WEEKEND: MOURINHO SENT TO THE STANDS...AGAIN

The Man United manager was yet again sent to the stands for kicking a water bottle in his technical area after Paul Pogba received a yellow card from referee Jon Moss for a dive. The rules stipulate that kicking an object in the technical area is in violation of the Premier League code of conduct and warrants a sending off. Mourinho could now possibly face a lengthy ban.

GAME OF THE WEEKEND: CRYSTAL PALACE V SWANSEA CITY

One of the games of the season that saw the momentum of the match swing from one side to the other. In the 68th minute Swansea were 3-1 up but by the 84th minute, found themselves trailing 4-3 before Fernando Llorente came on and scored two goals in added time to send the crowd into delirium. It clearly left the BBC live commentary team in disbelief.

TEAM OF THE WEEK - SOUTHAMPTON

This was a big win for the Saints over their former coach. Everyone expected Claude Puel's men to continue to sink into the relegation zone as they continue to sell their best players. Southampton though outplayed former manager, Ronald Koeman's Everton in a 1-0 win with the Man of the Match award going to 19-year-old debutant, Josh Sims, who set up Charlie Austin's winner. The Saints seem to have unearthed yet another exciting academy prospect.
