Zidan: We need to beat Bafana

Johannesburg - Egypt star Mohamed Zidan is in high spirits ahead of the all-important African Cup of Nations qualifier against Bafana Bafana on Sunday.

The Pharaohs have to beat South Africa this weekend if they are to have any chance of reaching the 2012 edition of the African showpiece, which will be jointly hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Zidan is determined to bag the three points at the Cairo Military Academy Stadium and lift the team to the level which is expected of them.

"I feel I'm living my best football days and I want to make use of that," the Borussia Dortmund forward told FilGoal.com.

"We need to get out of that dark tunnel we're in at the moment in order to repeat the achievement of being champions of Africa."

Meanwhile, Mohamed Aboutrika, who has already been ruled out of the Bafana Bafana clash, is expected to be sidelined for a further two weeks due to a calf problem.
