Pebble Beach - England goalkeeper Robert Green, whose blunder gifted the United States a 1-1 Soccer World Cup draw, won sympathy on Tuesday from another man used to public condemnation - Tiger Woods.
The world number one golfer said he hoped Green would be given a chance to atone for his embarrassing howler rather than being axed from Fabio Capello's team in South Africa.
"I hope he gets a chance to play and is not finished," said Woods, who is here preparing for the US Open which starts on Thursday, the day before Green hopes to play again when England tackle Algeria in Cape Town.
