Sono backs Bafana

Johannesburg - Jomo Cosmos boss and coach, Jomo  Sono is confident that Bafana Bafana will do well in the World Cup tournament.

Speaking to the Siya crew Sono had positive thoughts about the South African national team, “Bafana has done well in their friendly games, yes friendly games are different and the real test starts today (Friday).”

“Their confidence is very high and they open the tournament playing a very, very, very, very good team. Note how I say very four times as I have watched their tapes about three times and I can tell you that those Mexican boys are good. They are quick and skillful and our boys must make sure that they keep them from scoring a goal, especially in the first 30 minutes of the game,” Sono said sharing his thoughts.

Sono was patriotic in his response when asked how he thought Bafana would do, “As a patriot I’d like to see the boys go all the way to the final. I know it’s a big dream but in football anything is possible. Remember Goliath was knocked down by David.”

“Parreira has done extremely well with the team and he certainly has boosted the players’ morale and we’re a better team now. Soccer is a game of  30% tactics, 30 % fitness and 40 % luck. Let’s hope that luck will be on our side come the opening game,” concluded an optimistic Sono.
