Pretoria - British authorities are working with the South African police to minimise threats of "trouble" by UK soccer fans at the 2010 World Cup, the British High Commission has said.Spokesman Gary Benham said they were working closely with the police to ensure the safety of thousands of fans when their national team plays in Rustenburg, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. Some English soccer fans are known for their unruly and destructive behaviour, including brawls, vandalism and intimidation. The British Commission also launched a "Be on the Ball" campaign aimed at helping England fans heading to South Africa with advice on travelling, safety and accommodation.Publicity manager for the campaign, Phillip Lord, said it was not specifically for South Africa, as they had similar campaigns during major sports events including the 2006 World Cup in Germany and the cricket World Cup.
