Johannesburg - The number of fans attending World Cup matches in South Africa is expected to pass the 3-million milestone later on Wednesday when Germany meets Spain in the semi-finals.

The figure has only been reached twice before, at the 1994 World Cup in the United States and four years ago in Germany.

FIFA also revealed Wednesday that there are still 800 category one tickets available for the semi-final game in Durban.
