Johannesburg - SAFA will have to explain to parliament on Tuesday how they plan to spend the R1bn wind-fall they received from FIFA for hosting the Soccer World Cup.

Chairperson of the National Assembly's sport and recreation committee, Butana Komphela, believes most of the money should go towards development.

"What we want from SAFA is development. Those (junior) teams are the feeder to the national team. SAFA must be clear when it talks to us about those things," he told Pretoria News.

"They must show us their plan (in terms of) how this windfall will benefit the entire South Africa."

Komphela added that the issue of bonuses would also be discussed as prior to the event, it was reported that administrators would pocket millions for bringing the global showpiece to Africa.
