Prediction time: SA v Mexico

Cape Town -  It appears every man and his dog has an opinion on how well - or badly - Bafana Bafana will fare in the Soccer World Cup.

Bafana open the 2010 edition of the SWC against Mexico at Soccer City in Johannesburg on Friday at 16:00.

Spared the process of qualifying for the tournament as hosts, Bafana's journey to the SWC finals has been something akin to a rollercoaster ride.

Over-paid coaches from all corners of the globe came and went before Brazil's Carlos Alberto Parreira was tasked with leading the team into battle.

To be fair, the team's results of late have been more encouraging that many would've dared dream.

But the time for taking is over. The real things starts NOW!
