Bela Horizonte – Carlos Alberto Parreira and Joel Santana will square off when Bafana Bafana and Botafago meet in a training game in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday night.

And Parreira’s predecessor is out for revenge.

Santana was axed as South African coach at the end of last year after a number of poor performances in the wake of Bafana Bafana’s encouraging Confederations Cup campaign.

He was given the job in 2008 after Parreira had to return to his home country due to “personal reasons”.

On Saturday Santana gets a chance to avenge his axing as Botafago seek to inflict Bafana’s first defeat on their month-long training camp.

South Africa have already managed two wins against Fluminense and Boavista, as well as draws against Volta Redonda and Cruzeiro. They are yet to concede a goal on their Brazilian safari.

Had it not been for goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune, Bafana would have lost to Cruzeiro’s foxes.

The match ended in a 0-0 draw after Khune’s heroics ensured him the man-of-the-match award in front of 40 000 spectators.

Khune has been engaged in a fierce battle with Emile Baron for the No 1 jersey. Baron had to return to South Africa with a shoulder injury.

“I am delighted with the performance, but I could not have done it without the help of defenders Siyabonga Sangweni and Bongani Khumalo,” said Khune.

Doubt Santana really cares about revenge as he is on good terms with Parreira. Score line should be insteresting. But where can we see video clips of these matches?
