Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana’s captain in the game against Namibia, Teko Modise, has told the Siya crew that his players gave their best in the 1-1 draw last night.
He said that they played their "lungs out" but failed to convert chances into goals.
“We fought hard for our country. We wanted to win that game and from the first whistle we played with passion and love. We controlled the proceedings but we failed to score. We are also not happy that we could not score but we tried hard and things didn’t just happen,” he said.
Modise, who has this season failed to capture the form that once catapulted him into superstardom in South Africa, said the team has learnt that scoring wins games!
“Only if we had taken all the chances mainly in the first half we could have won the game there and then. But we have learnt now that we have to make use of all the chances we create in the game.
“It will be hard but we have to fight hard enough and see what we can do. We are thankful to the people who came in numbers to support us and we are looking forward to the same crowds in the World Cup in June,” concluded Modise.
