Johannesburg - Argentina coach Diego Maradona has arrived in South Africa to review preparations for his team's stay in the country during this year's World Cup.

A large crowd of journalists scrambled for pictures as Maradona arrived at Johannesburg's airport on Monday morning. He said little beyond "thank you, South Africa," and is not expected to address the media during a weeklong stay.
Maradona's visit comes days after he ended a two-month suspension imposed by FIFA for his profanity-laden rant at a news conference after his team beat Uruguay to qualify for the World Cup.
Argentina face South Korea, Nigeria and Greece in Group B when the World Cup gets under way in June. Argentina's training base will be an elite sports training and research centre at the University of Pretoria.
