Khune: I’ve dreamt of this day

Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune is expected to be the team’s number one keeper during the FIFA World Cup and the Kaizer Chiefs player says he aims to keep a clean sheet throughout.

He tells the Siya crew that nothing will make him happier than keeping Mexico from scoring in the opening game of the tournament at Soccer City Stadium.

“I have dreamt of this day for a long time and finally it has come and if given the chance I will make sure that I keep a clean sheet against Mexico. That makes it easy for the team to win,” he said.

The Kaizer Chiefs player believes no matter who starts in the number one jersey, the team will do well!

“We are one team and we all support the one playing on the day. If we win, we all win together and the most important thing, above individual performance, is the team winning. We all support each other for the good of the team, the supporters and the country at large,” Khune concluded.
