Josephs: Competition is good

Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs is of the thinking that the competition in the goalkeeping department is beneficial to the team.

Itumeleng Khune is seen as South Africa's first-choice stopper, but Josephs will be pushing the Kaizer Chiefs star all the way for the number one jersey ahead of the opening match at Soccer City against Mexico.

The Orlando Pirates goalkeeper told Chiefs' official website: "The kind of competition that exists between me and Itumeleng is healthy and good for South Africa.

"When you are competing for a place against another player it makes you play your best and he also raises his game.

"This is good for the team to have players competing at such a level for the same position."

"Itumeleng and I are professional rivals who ever gets the nod from the coach to start on Friday the other guy will be right behind him," he added.
