Johannesburg - Orlando Pirates star Andile Jali was thrilled to make his Bafana Bafana debut in the 3-0 victory over Zimbabwe earlier this week.
The 19-year-old midfielder replaced Bucs team-mate Teko Modise in the final three minutes of the clash and was pleased with his first foray into international football.
"I am delighted to have been given an opportunity to earn my first cap for the national team," he said on Pirates' official website.
"In fact I'm very pleased with the whole experience that I gained during the camp with Bafana Bafana.
"I learnt a lot during my time here from my team-mates and from the technical staff. I enjoyed playing against Swaziland, but this [official debut against Zimbabwe], is by far the cherry on top.
"This has inspired me to work even harder for the club because at the end of the day only through working hard at club level will I be given another opportunity to represent my country, so I'll be looking forward to the upcoming league games."
He added: "I am going to take my game to the next level when we resume our league matches next week. I have no doubt in my capabilities. There is still more to come from me, that's why I just hope I stay injury free and keep doing my best for Pirates. Then anything else, will follow."
The fifth-placed Buccaneers will resume their league campaign against leaders SuperSport United at Orlando Stadium on 3 February.
