Injured King to miss next game

Rustenburg - Ledley King is expected to miss England's next World Cup match after injuring his groin in the 1-1 draw against the United States.

England coach Fabio Capello said King was replaced by Jamie Carragher after halftime in Saturday's Group C opener because he hurt an abductor muscle.

He gave no further details but said he expected King, whose career at Tottenham has been dogged by chronic knee problems, to be fit again only in time for England's last group game against Slovenia on June 23.

England's next match is Algeria on Friday in Cape Town.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
