Honduras at training camp

Vienna - The Honduran football team arrived late on Tuesday in Austria, where it will hold its pre-World Cup training camp and play three warm-up matches ahead of next month's tournament in South Africa.

The central American contenders, led by coach Reinaldo Rueda, arrived after more than a four hour delay from another training camp in Heidelberg, Germany, to take up their quarters in southern Carinthia province.

Earlier plans to stay in the resort town of Bad Bleiberg had to be revised after severe rain made the training ground there impracticable.

Instead, the Honduran squad will now be staying at the Falkensteiner Hotel Carinzia in nearby Troepolach, until June 8.

The team will also play three friendlies over the next two weeks: against Belarus on May 27 in Villach, against Azerbaijan on June 2 in Zell Am See and finally against Romania on June 5 in Sankt Veit an der Glan.

Honduras will play in group H against European champions Spain, Switzerland and Chile in the group stage of the World Cup, which runs from June 11 to July 11.
