Johannesburg - Morgan Gould's business manager Glynn Binkin insists the defender will be available for the Soccer World Cup in June.
WIN a Bafana Hamper
The SuperSport United centre-back is currently nursing a knee injury he sustained in February and last week his coach Gavin Hunt dropped a bombshell to Football365.co.za saying: "I would love to see him play in the World Cup, but I don't think he will make the squad... I hope he can make the World Cup squad to prove me wrong."
Binkin is adamant that Gould will indeed prove Hunt wrong. "Morgan will be fine by the World Cup," he said.
"I have read some stories that he won't be fine, but he is fine and has started training. I said to Morgan the other day that this is very much Lucas Radebe's situation before the Africa Cup of Nations in 1996.
"He was injured and shouldn't have played, and when Dr. Victor Ramathesele went to Leeds United he came back and said Lucas was not going to be right and so on, but guess what - Lucas played in the AFCON and helped the country win it.
"The player himself knows his body and Morgan wants to play in the World Cup, but he is honest about it. He is confident that with the right kind of rehabilitation over the next couple of weeks, come the World Cup he will be fine," Binkin concluded.
