Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana defender Morgan Gould looks set to miss the Soccer World Cup as he is currently struggling with an ankle injury.
Gould sustained the injury in February whilst playing for SuperSport United in a league match against Bidvest Wits.
Matsatsantsa head coach Gavin Hunt revealed to Football365.co.za that it looks unlikely that the defender will recover in time, although he is hoping for the best.
Hunt said: "He won't play. I would love to see him play in the World Cup, but I don't think he will make the squad.
"It's unfortunate but it is still too far away (his return) and I hope he can make the World Cup squad to prove me wrong.
"We need him back fit and strong but I don't think he will make the World Cup squad."
If the 27-year-old is unable to recover in time, it could lead to the door opening for Nasief Morris to return to the fold, although Bafana Bafana head coach Carlos Alberto Parreira is more likely to pick a local player ahead of the former Santos star.
