Johannesburg - Defender Morgan Gould has played down the effect that Bafana Bafana's new training venue will have on their preparations for the World Cup.
South Africa were forced to move their training camp for June's World Cup finals to the Sandown High School after it was revealed that the Esselen Park School of Excellence, where Bafana head coach Carlos Alberto Parreira was planning to use when he begins work at home in May with Bafana, would not be sufficient.
The Esselen complex is badly run down and it would take about R16 million to renovate. The previous SAFA administration who were voted out of office last November were blamed for the failure to secure Esselen Park and upgrade it in time.
However, the SuperSport United player is confident that it won't influence their preparations for the showpiece.
He told Football365.co.za: "It is not going to affect us in the sense that we are going to the biggest tournament ever the World Cup, so it shouldn't matter where we train.
"As long as we prepare ourselves well for our upcoming games in the World Cup we will do well, that isn't going to side track us you know."
