Johannesburg - Captain Aaron Mokoena believes Bafana Bafana will greatly benefit from their scheduled training camps.
The national team will embark on sessions in Durban, Brazil and Germany before the showpiece, in which they will tackle France, Uruguay and Mexico in Group A.
Many feel that South Africa are not as strong nor as skillful as their opponents and will thus suffer an early exit on home soil.
But the skipper believes his team-mates will be up for the challenge. He told Sowetan: "If you remember in the build-up to the Confederations Cup, we had a month-long training camp in Johannesburg.
"Prior to the tournament, many people did not give us a chance but after the training camp, we were a different team and reached the semi-finals.
"For the World Cup, we have more time to get ourselves in great shape. I have no shred of doubt we will be a well-oiled machine before the start of the World Cup.
"We are under pressure because the World Cup is played in our own country. We are well aware the expectations are high, we'll deliver but it won't be easy," he concluded.
