Dikgacoi: We were just unlucky

Johannesburg - South Africa's defensive midfielder Kagisho "KG" Dikgacoi was instrumental in Bafana Bafana’s 1-1 draw in Friday's opening Soccer World Cup game against Mexico.

The Fulham based player provided the pass to Siphiwe Tshabalala who scored the all important goal that guaranteed the team one point from the opening game.

He told the Siya crew that after the good performance the team can only improve on their superb performance. He said that the players showed that they can hold their own against the best in the world.

"It was one of the best games we have played. We could have even won it but we were just unlucky. We just need to improve from this performance going forward. We are doing very well and it is good for the team," Dikgacoi said.

He urged all the supporters to continue rallying behind the team as they have been doing.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
