London - Fabio Capello has rubbished suggestions that David Beckham's role with England's World Cup squad will extend to coaching his former team-mates.
Capello has invited the injured midfielder to South Africa to offer support to the squad while undertaking promotional duties on behalf of England's bid to host the 2018 World Cup.
But the Italian bristled when speculation that the 35-year-old might join the coaching staff was repeated to him. "Absolutely not," was the response.
"David will stay with us and he can help us during the World Cup, but no coaching. You have to respect the other coaches."
