Bafokeng is Eng's SWC base

Johannesburg - FIFA have confirmed England will use Royal Bafokeng Sports Campus as their training base for the World Cup in South Africa.

Parts of the complex, in the north-west of the country near Rustenburg, are still under construction but England boss Fabio Capello and the Football Association have been assured the project will be delivered on time and the pitches will be up to standard.

Capello visited the site earlier in the week when he attended FIFA's pre-tournament Team Workshop in Sun City.

The Italian saw a half-built hotel and was told a medical centre is yet to be built but the guarantees from organisers means they have agreed it will be their camp.

"I'm really happy," he said. "We checked everything and it improved a lot from the last time we stayed here.

"The pitches are good and will be better for June. The pitches and the centre we choose will be very important for us.

"The hotel is really, really nice and the medical centre will be ready in two months. I'm really, really happy because it's the third time I've stayed here and the facilities are fantastic.

"We visited four different places and this was the best."

The other message from Capello during his trip to South Africa was he will not tolerate poor conduct off the pitch.

Allegations involving John Terry and Wayne Bridge's ex-girlfriend led to Capello stripping the Chelsea defender of the captaincy, while Ashley Cole's separation from pop star Cheryl Cole has also been front-page news.

Capello is a strict disciplinarian and will emphasise to his squad how he expects them to behave when they meet up ahead of next week's friendly against Egypt at Wembley.

The Italian, who admitted it was concerning for him to see the private lives of his players in the news, said: "The players have to understand what I want, if you want to stay with me.

"It will be very important because we need to create a group. The England shirt is very important. This will be one of the most important points we will speak about."
