Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana will play their first game after the 2010 FIFA World Cup under new head coach Pitso Mosimane on August 11.

South Africa will take on World Cup quarter finalists Ghana at Soccer City in a game that will surely recapture the magic of the tournament that ended on July 11.

SAFA CEO Leslie Sedibe told the Siya crew that the game will be played at 20:30 and has encouraged South African football supporters to come out in their droves in support of the national team.

"It is a midweek game so it will be played at night because the SABC will broadcast it live. It is on a FIFA day and we are looking forward to having all the players selected present on the day," Sedibe said.

All fans enquiring after tickets, call SAFA offices in Gauteng, 0114943522, just called them myself, tickets available from Computicket, but only 1 week before game, lowest priced ticket = R40.00, good luck, hope to get 4 myself!

Couldn't afford to take the family to a World Cup game but promised them tickets to the first Soccer City game after that. Now what do the organisers do? Mid week at 20:30?? Come on guys..... Why not a weekend, late afternoon game. How are we going to maintain our current patriotism with time schedules like that. Serious mind shift needs to take place if SA is going to continue this euphoric state created by the world cup. Consider families please. At this rate it seems that shortly we will suffer from "Empty Stadium" syndrome again.

What a great way to keep the flag flying!!!! It would be great to see Bafana play in game in Cape Town. We missed out in the Wold Cup! I am looking foward to watch the game on the 11th!!! Go Bafana Bafana!
Ines7/19/2010 12:47 PM
Capetonians, you guys need to take a chill pill. I heard Bafana is going to be doing a tour of all the cities that have stadiums. So you'll get your chance. Sheesh. Also, ticket info please! :)
Gana7/19/2010 12:46 PM
Organize as many games as possible for Bafana Bafana so that we can improve from the last game when we beat France, lets give Pitso a chance, 1 Bafana Bafana and 0 Ghana. I will encourage 10 more people to attend the game with me, blow vuvuzela 10 times, wave the flag and paint my face.
tseliso7/19/2010 12:33 PM
maybe we should pertition SAFA/ABSA to have the game moved to CPT, i'm a Gauteng person maar i'd also be glad to see Bafana at CPT
Cass7/19/2010 11:58 AM
Cape Town was the best host city of the World Cup - surely, we can watch our own team, play in our city at least once. Come on, where's the justice in all of this?
Mashudu7/19/2010 11:16 AM

Its very unfair that Capetonians don't get to see Bafanana play once again. It was unfair enough that the Gauteng Province had three stadiums for the 2010 World Cup and other provinces had only one stadium each except for the Northern Province which did not host any match. Lets now build on what South Africa has achieved and strengthen our unity even farther...

Go Bafana ! I would love to see our team SA play once again at Soccer City as well as they did in the opening ceremony on the 11 June 2010 !! Ayoba Bafana !!
Zee7/16/2010 3:59 PM
Bring the game to Cape Town Asseblief!!!
Ron7/16/2010 3:54 PM
Please bring Bafana to Cape Town Stadium soon. There were so many supporters who could'nt get to the Bafana games up north for the WC and I think its only fair to give the average Capetonian supporter a chance to see their team in action. Bafana owes it to us after all the support we have given them. Come on SAFA, do the right thing.
Larry7/16/2010 2:04 PM
Being a capetonian, I would very much like to watch a Bafana match in CT as much as the next and that may happen in the near future. I'm also just happy to get to a TV to watch the match. I also really hope that white South Africans will show as much enthusiasm as they did in the SWC when ever SA played. Its that enthusiasm that may keep the unity that was created in this country by FIFA hosting the SWC here.
Fi7/16/2010 1:58 PM
Info on tickets please!!!
Thitos7/16/2010 1:54 PM
Only 3 Bafana games in Cape Town since 1990, well say 1992. 3 games in 18 years? You gotta be kidding me! SAFA sucks man. Is Bafana a Gauteng provincial team or what? Please let us know, so that us Capetonians can know where we stand.
bm7/16/2010 1:34 PM
Why not Cape Town, Mbombela, Durban? Simple. These cities AINT JOHANNESBURG. This white elephant thing has begun.
Miss NJP, PTA7/16/2010 1:31 PM
This will be a challange for Pitso, I love my country and love Bafana but Bafana playing Ghana? Pitso as Coach? May be a miracle can happen that we beat Ghana but sommer so... nee, I doubt.
ajg7/16/2010 1:29 PM
why do safa want to embarrass our country even more by playing ghana. ghana is so much more better then bafana. ghana can send their world cup junior team and will still beat them.
2.toxic 7/16/2010 12:38 PM
cape town is too slow for such game
Vman7/16/2010 12:20 PM
I hope pitso will select the powerfull team, please just drop Mokoena and Modise the usual suspects. There are so many players out there who wants to shocase their talents. Players should not get outomatical inclusion in squad but should work for it.
Bantu 7/16/2010 12:10 PM
Oh great 20:30 "It is a midweek game so it will be played at night because the SABC will broadcast it live" no because Generations must be aired first, i also don't what have we done in CPT to be treated as if we don't belong in this country
wiseman7/16/2010 10:45 AM
why not schedule the game fot the friday or saturday evening.i am sure that everyone wants to watch our country play.
Dj 7/16/2010 10:35 AM
I just hope that our African brothers will be genorous to us otherwise i see people calling for the coach 's head after a double digit score whipping from Ghana
Touch7/16/2010 10:15 AM
Great game it promises to be! Only quality opponents like Ghana wll help us improve.
rayale7/16/2010 9:54 AM
Why are they not going to play at the Cape Town Stadium. Is there a conspiracy to boycot (sic) the Western Cape or are they scared they scared they will be booed even before they walk on to the turf? Pitso and Jarro was part of the less than mediocre world cup performance how and why are they appointed as the head and assistant coach. Something is starting to smell and as we know a fish rots from the head.
Blue7/16/2010 9:42 AM
Bafana havent played in cape town in years even though we were meant to receive either the Denmark or Guatemala fixture before the world cup. They should play. I guarantee the stadium will be fill
Tboz7/16/2010 9:40 AM
Ayew, Gyan and the rest of Africa's hero team will be here again. It is an honour ... I will be there. Blowing my vuvuzela in support of both teams ... I wonder if I can get a jersey in both nations colors. Once again I am 1st African and 2nd South African ... Theme of game should be tolerance between all African nations and an end to xenophobia.
Mkabayi7/16/2010 9:34 AM
This fake sangomas r already prediction the scores may b they should go to faraday and join others. Kodwa engikwaziyo ukuthi zibhula amanga no offence guys.

LESEGO7/16/2010 9:24 AM

Preston 7/16/2010 9:22 AM

Mac-Daddy7/16/2010 9:17 AM
When does CAPE TOWN get to see Bafana Play....this is what happens when you let a ..... man run football.
mbiza7/16/2010 9:16 AM
why schedule the game for 20:30 ? i wanted to go and watch but the transport is the problem for most of bafana loving fans. so pse if u want our support try and schedule yo friendlies for during the day

Sibuisiso7/16/2010 9:10 AM
I think they should have taken the game to Nelspruit or Nelson Mandela Bay.
Rankings7/16/2010 9:07 AM
No more excuses of SA learnig we've learned all we need to know, from here onwards we are working on those fifa rankings, every game it is a must win, hope SAFA knows that.
