Johannesburg - Hawkers planned to march to the Johannesburg mayor's office on Thursday to demand that they be allowed to sell goods at stadiums during the FIFA World Cup, the Pan Africanist Congress said.
Hawkers would hand over a memorandum to mayor Amos Masondo between 12:30 and 13:00.
"The PAC is hereby supporting the demands of the Johannesburg hawkers against draconian actions against them," the party said.
The hawkers were demanding that they be allowed to sell goods during World Cup games.
They were also demanding that the city stop "harassment of traders".
The marchers would give the municipality seven days to respond to their demands.
The march was scheduled to start at the Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown.
