Kimberley - The Uruguay soccer team's decision to use Kimberley as its base camp during the 2010 World Cup may lead to further sport development in the province, Northern Cape Premier Hazel Jenkins said on Monday.She said the Northern Cape government and the Uruguay Football Association had signed a memorandum of intent focusing on sport development, in particular grass-roots soccer development.The partnership would focus on junior and amateur programmes for under-15 and under-17 boys and girls."It includes capacity development of coaches, managers and technical officials in the province through programmes the Uruguay Football Association has with others countries as well," Jenkins said in a statement.She said the agreement would include a soccer exchange programme with junior and amateur players of the Uruguay Football Association.
