Johannesburg - Metrorail Gauteng will run a free train service to Soccer City on Monday for holders of valid 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup tickets to the game between the Netherlands and Denmark.
Metrorail said on Friday that it had set aside 15 trains for the duration of the FIFA World Cup.
"Nine trains and one spare set will service Johannesburg Park Station (and shuttle routes) while four trains and one spare set will service Pretoria Station," Metrorail said in a statement.
Train schedules prioritised the Bafana Bafana games, but services would be offered to all FIFA World Cup games for the duration of the tournament.
Metrorail said Pretoria and Johannesburg Stations would ensure greater travel convenience to people travelling in the north (Pretoria) and the south (Johannesburg).
"Metrorail's planning and scheduling aims to assist in further eliminating on-the-road traffic congestion by offering shorter travel distances to our train stations where people will board our trains and be dropped off at an average five minute walk to the stadium," a statement said.
