Cape Town – As far as the Dutch are concerned, things couldn’t be better in Cape Town.

Large numbers of fans of the Dutch soccer team have promised to paint the city centre orange on Thursday for their team's World Cup match against Cameroon.

The match will begin at 20:30 at Cape Town Stadium, but thousands of members of the Royal Netherlands Football Association, Supporter's Club Oranje and De Oranjecamping were expected at the official FIFA Fan Fest at the Grand Parade in the early afternoon.

Supporter's Club Oranje on Wednesday also invited other South Africans and soccer fans from other nationalities, especially those from Cameroon, to come celebrate with them and to watch the match.

At least 25 000 Dutch citizens who live in Cape Town were also invited to join the three supporters clubs later in the day when an orange stream would take the Fan Walk from the Grand Parade to the stadium.

About 1 000 members of De Oranjecamping – who are travelling through the country in a convoy of 125 camping vehicles to watch the soccer – will be at the Grand Parade. They arrived on Thursday in Paarl, where they are staying at the Berg River resort.

The group will walk to the Paarl station at 11:00 on Thursday and then travel by train to Cape Town for the match. At the end of the match, they will return to Paarl via bus.

The three supporters groups promised in statements that there would be "orange music" at the Grand Parade. They have already renamed the Grand Parade the "Orange Parade".
