FULL TIME: BELGIUM 1-0 RUSSIA.
Russia bring on Alexander Kerzhakov for Aleksandr Samedov.
BELGIUM 1-0 RUSSIA. Hazard drifts past a couple of defenders before pulling the ball back from the byline for ORIGI to slam his shot home.
The last five minutes have been the most exciting of the match as Hazard's shot is deflected away for a corner, that comes to nothing.
Mirallas hits the post with his free-kick from the edge of the area with Akinfeev beaten.
Shatov makes way for Alan Dzagoev.
Eshchenko's low shot is only just wide of the target.
Origi tries to whip in a shot from the edge of the area but it is blocked.
Kombarov's corner fails to beat the first man and is easily headed clear.
Belgium make their final change as Kevin Mirallas replaces Mertens.
Another yellow card - this time for Alderweireld.
Kompany has been in imperious form and he heads two Russia corners in quick succession clear.
So poor has the second half been that boos are starting to ring all around the Maracana.
Alongside the Nigeria v Iran match, this game has to be the most disappointing of the tournament.
Since the first 20 minutes Belgium have been dire and the match has turned into very drab affair.
The defensive rock that is Vincent Kompany heads a cross clear, but Russia are currently enjoying the better of the play.
Russia bring Andrey Eshchenko on for Aleksei Kozlov.
Origi goes down under Sergei Ignashevitch's challenge but the referee waves away Belgium's penalty appeals.
Belgium bring on Divock Origi for Lukaku.
Yet another promising Russia attack breaks down with a poor final ball.
Witsel is booked for hauling Oleg Shatov back.
Belgium's build-up play, which was so exciting in the first 20 minutes, is now extremely slow and predictable.
Witsel is eventually able to return to the pitch after being patched up.
There's a break in play as Axel Witsel needs treatment after appearing to injure his shoulder in a clash with Maksim Kanunnikov.
Mertens swings in another cross but no team-mate can latch on to it and the danger is averted by the Russia defence.
The second half in Rio de Janeiro is underway.
HALF TIME: BELGIUM 0-0 RUSSIA.
Russia are ending the half well and Glushakov's cross is headed wide by the unmarked Alexander Kokorin when he should really have scored - best chance of the half wasted.
Slowly but surely Russia are starting to get a foothold in the game but Belgium have really lost their way.
Denis Glushakov is booked for a high challenge on Mertens.
Mertens' cross-cum-shot is turned away by Akinfeev.
The match has degenerated into a very scrappy affair now.
The two teams seem to be cancelling each other out and the pace of the match has slowed significantly.
Thomas Vermaelen appears to have picked up an injury and has to be replaced by Jan Vertonghen.
Whenever Russia move out of their own half they appear to run out of ideas.
The corner is wasted though - Belgium are still struggling to create many openings.
Mertens wins another corner for Belgium, who are completely on top.
Lukaku is struggling to get into the game and looks a rather forlorn figure at the moment.
Mertens lashes a right-footed shot narrowly wide of Akinfeev's goal but Belgium are stepping up the pace.
Russia look a poor team as an intended pass goes straight out for a throw-in.
Toby Alderweireld's cross is too high for Marouane Fellaini and drifts out of play.
Belgium are on top but have still to create a clear-cut opening and have not forced Akinfeev to make a save.
Kevin De Bruyne finds Mertens who tries to set up Lukaku when a shot appeared to be the better option.
Russia have the first shot on goal, Oleg Shatov forcing Thibaut Courtois to make the save.
The has all the makings of a routine Belgian victory as Russia look very one-dimensional in the opening exchanges.
Belgium are on top and are dominating possession - the Red Devils look sharp.
Mertens is everywhere in the early stages and has a shot blocked after beating the offside trap.
When Russia clear their lines they launch a rapid and dangerous counter-attack that eventually breaks down, although Belgium put too many players up then.
Belgium make a confident start as Dries Mertens wins an early corner.
The action at the Maracana is underway.
Romelu Lukaku will once again be leading the line for Belgium despite failing to impress against Algeria.
Belgium struggled before eventually edging past Algeria in their first match and will start as slight favourites to edge this one.
Goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev keeps his place in the Russia team despite his error against South Korea.
Belgium make three changes to the side that beat Algeria 2-1 with Nacer Chadli, Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele being replaced by Marouane Fellaini, Thomas Vermaelen and Dries Mertens.
