Huge early demand for tickets

Cape Town - Thousands of fans, many camping overnight, flocked to the 11 2010 FIFA World Cup Ticketing Centres and 600 countrywide FNB branches on Thursday, as the fifth and last ticketing sales phase got underway.

A total of 1 610 tickets were sold to 310 customers nationally at the Ticketing Centres within the first hour after they opened at 09:00 this morning, with 2 166 tickets also sold to 470 fans at FNB branches.

The integrated Ticketing System, which manages all sales channels experienced huge countrywide demand; as a result experiencing some delays initially in the processing of ticket orders.

“There was a massive demand for tickets this morning, which we are delighted with. We experienced some delays in issuing tickets at the outset, but we have been working on improving the response time of the system. With the improvements we have already made the process is getting quicker and we are confident it will continue to improve throughout the day.” said James Byrom, the SA Project Ticketing Manager for MATCH, FIFA’s official ticketing service provider.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
