Benzema daring to dream

Cape Town -  Karim Benzema believes France can "do something extraordinary" at the World Cup as they gear up for their second Group E clash against Switzerland on Friday.

Les Bleus began their Brazil adventure on the right foot as they romped to a 3-0 win over Honduras on Sunday, and next face a Switzerland side who also made a winning start to Group E as they saw off Ecuador 2-1.

And Benzema, who scored a brace against the Hondurans, is eagerly anticipating the rest of the South American spectacular, with World Cup glory very much at the forefront of the Real Madrid striker's thinking.

"I was asked to be decisive but that's normal. I work to be good, to help the French national team, a team who has a lot of young players. If I can bring a little trick, I do," he said ahead of Friday's Group E clash.

"It's a new team, it's a new era. This is a team with plenty of talent. With this team, we can do something extraordinary for this World Cup."

Benzema preferred not to take all the credit for his side's early success in Brazil, adding: "I think the star is the team. You can't do anything without your team-mates.

"We all work together and I would say this is the team the star."
