Johannesburg - The South African Football Association have revealed that Sunday's friendly at the Mbombela Stadium is sold out.

Bafana Bafana face the Thailand national team at the opening of Nelspruit's Soccer World Cup venue this weekend.

A statement on SAFA's website late on Tuesday read: 'The 2010 FIFA World Cup venue will accommodate thirty thousand supporters for the Sunday match between South Africa and Thailand.

'Tickets went on sale over the weekend, and the last tickets were purchased just after four o'clock this afternoon.

'The Mbombela municipality will introduce Park and Ride to transport match ticket holders to the stadium.'

The match is one of several matches South Africa have lined up ahead of the 2010 tournament.

I am sure you have said excatly that comment a few months ago.First sentence a copy and paste. The fans have always been buying tickets early for the important matches. Obviously when Black Leopards play Jomo Cosmos then there is no need to rush

Great to see that the tickets are selling out quickly. South Africans are catching on to buying tickets early. As a test event I can see why they are only letting 30 000 tickets to be sold, I just hope that they have a full (40 000) person test event too.
