Bafana team 'not compromised'

Pretoria - The suspension of two senior executives from the SA Football Association (SAFA) a month before the FIFA World Cup will not affect Bafana Bafana's preparations, chief executive Leslie Sedibe said on Thursday.

"If I thought that the suspensions of these two individuals would compromise preparations of the team I would never have made this decision," Sedibe told a National Press Club briefing in Pretoria.

Sedibe suspended Bafana Bafana team manager Sipho Nkumane and SAFA commercial director Victor Nosi earlier this week pending "a disciplinary action".

He would not be drawn on what the alleged offences were, saying only that his decision was related to improving performance of the organisation.

"It's going to be important that nobody is rubbished in the media. These are merely allegations. I did not take this decision lightly. I applied my mind.

"I can give you my absolute assurance that none of what I have done in the past few weeks will in any way adversely affect the senior national men's team and their preparations for the World Cup."

Sedibe also dismissed rumours that he was attempting to "purge" the association of its leadership.

"There is no purge. For me it's about performance. It's an urban legend. I have no such intentions. However, people will beheld accountable," he said.

Take all banana bananas to Zimbabwe. They will make Mugabe proud. Don't forget fat Malema. He will go for breakfast.

I like this one, "People we beheld accountable". Let it be, so many people have rubbish our soccer in this contry before and now its time we point fingers to the culprit and act on them. I never like Sipho Nkumane, those are the very same old guys who fail Bafana to both previous AFCON. I like this new regime.

I fully conccur with the notion that the current squead should be ideally terminated, but that would be foolish because of the SWC around the corner. But for future preferancesour legends like Jomo Sono, Ace,ect have to be the heads of SAFA because they know what is required fro the national team to succeed.

Of course the team is not affected, they don`t care if the whole of SAFA gets suspensed, just as long as the players get the 1M a goal they been promised and the bouses they demanding,so what happens if the demands are not meet, will they toy-toy? hahahahaha, like the old saying go`s: Welcome to Africa:

Funny how the media blame SAFA for endless bunglings, which have been obvious for all to see, and when action is taken, they see it as a purge? How many times has management dropped the ball when dealing with Bafana issue, including the inability to organise games against quality opponents? Surely, such lack of performance cannot be tolerated even by SAFA

I think I like this man. Mr.Sedibe you doing a fine job since you started as a CEO of SAFA. If you don't perfome you out. It's time for the public to realise how serious we are about our Sport "soccer" Good job Leslie!!!

No worries, SA will come dead last no matter what happens, you caneven fire the coach we don't really care
Frans Mosia5/13/2010 1:27 PM
Can Bafana really be afected by the suspension of these duo? i dont think so.
Sox5/13/2010 1:23 PM
