US to honour SA soccer boss

Johannesburg - Orlando Pirates boss Irvin Khoza will be honoured in the US on Friday for his contribution to the success of the 2010 Soccer World Cup, according to a report in the
Sowetan.
Khoza, who is the Premier Soccer League chairperson and SAFA deputy president, will receive an award from the African American Institute.
Khoza said: "The award is for the successful hosting of the World Cup. They are happy that as South Africans we put up a great show which impressed people across the globe."
Khoza served as chairperson of the Local Organising Committee.
The man also known as the "Iron Duke" in soccer circles left for New York last Saturday, which saw him being excused from the Safa special general meeting.
