Thieves snatch Brehme's watch

Berlin - Former Soccer World Cup winner Andreas Brehme has fallen victim to cheeky thieves who stole his luxury watch off his wrist, it was reported on Wednesday.

The 50-year-old, who won the 1990 World Cup as a defender with West Germany, was driving through Milan when two strangers on a moped hit one of his side-mirrors.

When the former Inter Milan star opened the window to re-adjust the mirror, his Rolex watch was snatched from his wrist by the opportunist thieves.

According to reports in the Italian media, the watch is believed to be worth around 20 000 euros (R222 000).
