Terrorists affect CAF clash

Johannesburg - Joshua Obaje looks set to miss Black Leopards' CAF Confederation Cup clash against Al Merreikh as the striker is stranded in Nigeria.

The forward has been holidaying in his hometown of Kaduna, but terrorist attacks in the city have left all forms of transport on lockdown, including all flights in and out of the area.

Lidoda Duvha continue their African adventure against the Sudanese outfit on Saturday, but the PSL club have revealed Obaje is unlikely to be available to them for the encounter.

"We have checked with the Nigerian embassy, but they cannot tell us when the ban on flights will be lifted," Leopards spokesperson Tendani Thidiela told SuperSport.

"We are hoping to have him back for the second leg of the CAF tie, but at this stage we just cannot say.

"It is very frustrating for everybody concerned, most of all the player."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
