Pretoria - SuperSport United beat AmaZulu 3-0 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Sunday to book their place in the Nedbank Cup final against Mamelodi Sundowns.

United led 1-0 at the break and a solid second stanza secured a win as SuperSport refused to settle for a single goal.

AmaZulu started the more lively of the two sides, constantly applying pressure on the United defence but there was a lack of clinical finishing as Amazulu went in search of the first goal.

Matsatsantsa opened the scoring 10 minutes before half-time after United hit AmaZulu on the counter attack.

A quick interplay between United's midfielders allowed Kermit Erasmus to make a run into the AmaZulu area before his simple pass set up Thabiso Nkoana who tapped home into an empty goal.

Gavin Hunt introduced Sibusiso Zuma on the hour mark and his first touch nearly led to a second for United, but his shot sailed over the bar.

Erasmus doubled United's lead 15 minutes from the end after a mistake in midfield from AmaZulu allowed United to push deep into the opposing half with Erasmus firing home from close-range after an initial save from Tapuwa Kapini.

The goal spurred the AmaZulu side on as they upped the tempo, looking for a goal to bring them back into the game, but it was Zuma who sealed the win in the 88th minute through an individual effort from close range.

Zuma received the ball in the AmaZulu area with his back to goal but a clever turn meant Zuma he get a shot away and beat Kapini at the near post.

The United defence held on to secure a win for the Pretoria-based side who meet rivals Sundowns in the final at Orlando Stadium on May 26.
