SuperSport eye Chiefs scalp

Cape Town - Scarcely after confirming the Moses Mabhida Stadium as the venue for the 2013 Nedbank Cup final, have the two teams contesting the match commenced battle in the war of words preceding the big day.

SuperSport United will play Kaizer Chiefs in the final match of the 2012/2013 South African soccer season.

Matsatsantsa are defending champions of the competition and will feel confident of defending their crown on May 25.

Soccer Laduma's website reports that United midfielder Mogogi Gabonamong believes that the AmaKhosi are ripe for the picking.

“We are the defending champions and we want to keep the trophy, and to do that, we have to beat Chiefs. This is a huge step for us to win two trophies in a row. We respect them but we want to win this trophy.

“We will fight like soldiers to beat them. We value them just like they value us and the 90 minutes will decide the game. But we want to win,” he said.

SuperSport confirmed their spot in the showpiece after beating Platinum Stars 3-2, with extra-time required to decide the result, while their opponents, Kaizer Chiefs, survived a late onslaught from United FC to triumph 2-1.
