Cape Town - Mamelodi
Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane revealed he was not satisfied with his
side's display in Wednesday's 0-0 draw with Rwanda's Rayon Sports in the
first round first leg of their CAF Champions League tie.
Despite securing what seems a valuable draw in Kigali, Mosimane takes the view that the performance given by the 2016 African champions was not up to the standards he demands.
Speaking after the match at the Stade Amahoro in Rwanda's capital, he told reporters: "First I want to say, congratulations to the coach, a good game. Congratulations to Rayon Sports, I think they played very well.
"A different game, from my opinion it was a game of two halves, I think the first half we took it, but I think the second half, probably the coach gave a good team talk there, they came out stronger in the second half.
"I was not happy with my team in the first half. I think my two centre-backs and the goalkeeper played well to defend against the fast attack of Rayon Sports. The attack was dangerous, they had a good attack, they had a good speed behind our defenders. They are a good team."
Ahead of the second leg on March 18 at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, Mosimane added: "I expect a tough game, was this easy? It was tough here football is like that. It is going to be tough. But I don’t know how Rayon Sports play away, so we are home."
