Happy Jele hungry for Pirates silverware

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates defender Happy Jele says he wants to win 'as many titles as possible' as the Buccaneers start their Nedbank Cup campaign this weekend.

The Soweto giants take on Ajax Cape Town on Saturday night at the Orlando Stadium.

Jele, who has been Pirates for 12 years, during which time he has helped the Soweto team win the league twice, also has two Nedbank Cup final victories, and two top eight winners' medals to his credit.

The 31-year-old still has several years left at the top level but as he begins to move towards the twilight of his career, his hunger for more trophy success has only increased.

"It won't be easy. We are playing Ajax Cape Town and they have shown that they are more than capable of doing well so we have to be on our A-game this Saturday," Jele told Soccer Laduma website.

"On a personal level, it's about having as many titles as possible.

"I'm a stage in my career where I want to win as much as I can so the Nedbank will provide an opportunity for myself and my team-mates a chance at silverware."

Kick-off is at 20:15.
