Telkom KO semis postponed

Johannesburg - The Telkom Knockout semi-finals set to take place this weekend have been postponed to November 23 to accommodate Orlando Pirates who are playing in the CAF Champions League final.

According to the supersport.com website, the first semi-final between Kaizer Chiefs and Platinum Stars was set to play on Saturday while the second semi-final between SuperSport United and Pirates was scheduled for November 20. However, after some consideration, the league decided to move the match back.

“As announced earlier the semi-final match between SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates was postponed due to the participation of Orlando Pirates in the final of the CAF Champions League. The League has decided that it will be best to play both semifinals on that date instead of three weeks apart,” said the league in a statement.

As a result of that, no league or cup matches will be played this weekend. This should afford Pirates maximum support for their Champions League final, first leg match penciled for 20:30 at Orlando Stadium.
