Cape Town - It appears unlikely that the SABC will televise Sunday's CAF Champions League second round match between AS Vita and Kaizer Chiefs.
According to competition rules, the home side owns the rights for the first leg tie to take place in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to the Kick-Off website, the SABC currently has no agreement in place with their opponents to show the game, which means local fans would have to wait for the return home leg.
“I’m not aware of any agreement… remember, at this stage, the host club can sell the rights to anybody,” said SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago.
Kganyago is, however, confident that the SABC will continue to broadcast Chiefs' home matches in the competition.
Chiefs reached the second round of the competition after beating Mozambican side Liga Muçulmana 7-0 on aggregate.
