SSU march past AFC Leopards

Nairobi - SuperSport United have conceded a late goal as the South Africans were held to a 2-2 draw by Kenyan side AFC Leopards in a first round, second leg, CAF Confederations Cup clash at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya, on Sunday afternoon.

The draw, however, was enough to seal progression into the second round for United, who advance 4-2 on aggregate, following a 2-0 win during the first leg in Pretoria last weekend.

Goalless at the break, SuperSport soon trailed after Leopards took the lead on 50 minutes,

Matsatsantsa, however, fought back well and equalised shortly after through Thuso Phala, who was put through on goal by Bennett Chenene, allowing the nippy winger to finish from close-range.

The home side got the crossbar in the 70th minute as SuperSport survived a scare, before taking the lead 12 minutes later, as Sameegh Doutie received a cross from Phala, who turned supplier, before slicing home the accurate delivery to snatch the advantage.

Leopards spoiled the visitors' party in the dying seconds, drawing level in the final moments, ensuring a share of the spoils in the Kenyan capital.
