22:15 - Thanks for joining us folks. We trust you have enjoyed the live coverage of this match as much as we have. Good game!!

22:12 - Man Of The Match award goes to Siyabonga Mpotshane for his brilliant work between the posts for for Stars. Well done to the goalie!

22:09 - Well done to Stars, who have now done the double on Pirates in finals this season. It's Stars' second cup this season and Pirates will be licking their wounds after coming home with nothing for the third time in a final this season. Eish!

22:06 - Well now what an interesting turn of events here at Mbombela Stadium! Stars have clawed their way back into this one thanks the brilliance of Ngele. One man turned this game around but Stars never gave up and their hard work paid off. It's full-time! Stars win!

22:04 - TWEET:

'Stars do it again and Super Sub pulls his magic AGAIN..... Remember that name Mogakolodi Ngele 1-2.' - @robertmarawa

22:00 - What a goal!!!! Ngele has scored again. This time with a brilliant first time shot. He sent that one curling into the top corner. Senzo didn't stand a chance!

22:00 - GOOOOOAAAAALLLLLLL!!!!!!

21:51 - Top class stuff from Ngele, who tore Pirates apart there with a brilliant run into the box on the right before getting a shot away from a tight angle to beat Meyiwa. Good goal!

21:51 - Stars have equalised through Ngele!

21:50 - GOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLL!!!!!!

21:48 -  Mbesuma gets another chance after Mere fails to clear. Mpontshane comes to the rescue again though and parries away for a corner.

21:45 - Klate does brilliantly to set up Mbesuma, who struggles at first but manages to shoot from a tight angle. Mhlongo closes in well enough to thwart the attempt and Mpontshane saves without much effort.

21:44 -  Klate gets booked now for sweeping down Ngele.

21:43 -  Mbesuma comes on for Bacela.

21:40 - Mathe gets his name added to the ref's book and Pirates have a free-kick in a dangerous area. The ball in from the right is too good though as it swerves passed everyone in front of goal.

21:40 - Another change for Stars as Nyanda replaces Tshabalala.

21:39 - Ngele on for Sarr. Talented player... Can he make the difference for Dikwena?

21:36 - Khethokwakhe Masuku replaces Tlou Segolela for Pirates.

21:32 - Not quite sure what happened to Pirates on the attack there, but Menyeni totally missed the ball as he tried to cross in from the left in a move that looked almost certain to end with a goal. Embarrassing, to say the least.

21:30 - Mhlongo now has a go for Stars by trying a long range shot which goes wide. Stars just not cutting it at the moment.

21:27 - Pirates are going for the kill now as Myeni shows some sublime skill by dribbling through the middle before unleashing a shot at goal. Mhlongo blocks it though and the ball goes out for a corner.

21:20 - Mpontshane with a brilliant reflex save to keep the ball out after one of his own players almost scored an own goal.

21:16 - We're back at Mbombela Stadium, where the players are making their way back onto the field now as the second-half is about to get underway. Stars to get the ball rolling.

21:02 - Free Kick to Pirates as Gumede fouls Myeni just outside the area. Klate bends it like Beckham but it's about a yard wide of goal. It's half-time!

21:01 - Pirates are clearly the better team on attack tonight. Their attacks are much more direct, pacey and with purpose.

21:00 -  Tshabalala has a go at goal now but his shot is easily saved by Meyiwa. Stars will have to better than that to get back into this match.

20:53 - Meyiwa is seeing stars after being taken out by his own player, but the man shows his tenacity by still managing to get in a touch to thwart a dangerous cross from Mbatha.

20:51 - TWEET:

'If Roger De Sa wins this cup or any other cup for that matter, David Moyes will win one in England too.' - @prophilani

20:49 - Stars are playing the ball around very well in the midfield, but are failing to get behind the Pirates defence. Ten minutes left of the first-half to find an equaliser.

20:45 - Lucky Lekgwathi with a powerful header after getting on the end of a Klate free kick. The captain is ecstatic after making it Pirates 1-0 P Stars.

20:44 - GOOOAAAAAALLLL!!!!

20:41 - Manyisa makes a penetrating run straight through the middle of the Stars midfield, but is brought down just in front of the box. The ref waves play on though, much to the dismay of the Pirates supporters.

20:40 - Myeni now gets added to the refs list of yellow cards.

20:39 - Jele gets booked and soon after so does Mere.

20:36 - TWEET:

'Pirates not supporting the man on the ball enough. Again see lack of triangles in our football.' - @PeterLaduma

20:35 - Mbatha tries his luck with a long range shot after Botes shows his class with a nifty touch. The shot is deflected wide though for another corner, which is wasted yet again.

20:32 - Pirates make a go for goal now as Jele gets behind the Stars defence on the right, he squares it to Myeni, but Mere gets there just in time to clear it for a corner.

20:29 - Stars tear Pirates wide open after an attack from the left flank. The cross reaches Mathe, but he fluffs the chance as he totally mis-kicks the ball.

20:23 - Looks like Pirates are going to have to work hard to get anything out of this one, Stars have some seriously top-class players. Ng'ambi unleashes another shot, but it it's blocked and doesn't reach the goal.

20:21 - Stars with the first clear-cut chance of the match as Ng'ambi shoots over from just outside the box after some quick interplay in the middle of the park to cut through Pirates' defence.

20:20 - Stars out-muscled Pirates in the midfield there, winning the ball back before counter-attacking. Comes to nothing though.

20:17 - Three minutes gone and this game has got off to an exciting start with both teams showing eagerness to attack. Pirates have a slight edge early on though with more ball possession than their counterparts.

20:14 - Pirates are ready to get the ball rolling, immediately playing the ball long into the Stars penalty area. They clear well enough, but Pirates win it back and get it up-field immediately again. Good start to this final.

20:07 - The teams are on the field lining-up as the stadium honours Madiba with a minute's silence before singing the national anthem.

20:05 - Pirates - who have played 23 Telkom Knockout matches since its inception in 2006, and have won 17 of the games, while they have lost three and there have been three draws - beat Mpumalanga Black Aces, Golden Arrows and SuperSport United to reach the final.

20:04 - To reach the final Dikwena - who have been involved in 14 Telkom Knockout games, winning seven, drawing three and losing four - got past Maritzburg United, Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs.

20:03 - Both clubs have been winners of the Telkom Knockout Cup. Stars in 2006, and Pirates in the 2011/12 season.

20:00 - Stars will have their work cut out for them though as Pirates will be hungry for victory after they also failed to win the CAF Champions League Final a few weeks ago. Being runners-up in two finals this season has no doubt left a bitter taste in the Sea Robbers' mouths.

19:56 - Some background for you before kick-off: This will be the second time this season that these teams face each other in a final. Stars will be confident after beating Pirates in the MTN8 Final earlier this year.

19:52 - Good evening football lovers and welcome to Sport24's live coverage of the Telkom Knockout final between Platinum Stars and Orlando Pirates. No doubt this will be an exciting clash as both teams hunt for glory in this penultimate match of the competition.
